The Santa Rosa Center for Innovation project was completed for the School District of Santa Rosa County and was designed by Sam Marshall Architects. The work consisted of the renovation of an existing metal building to create a modern educational facility known as the Santa Rosa Center for Innovation. The renovated space was designed to support hands-on, immersive learning and expand access to Career and Technical Education programs.
The scope of work included the construction of new interior partitions, including interior storefront wall systems with expansive glazing to promote visibility into classrooms and labs, creating an open and engaging environment that showcases student learning and collaboration. Additional work included replacement of existing interior finishes, installation of a new HVAC system, and replacement of existing lighting to improve efficiency and performance. A new fire sprinkler system was also installed throughout the facility to enhance life safety.
The completed Center features a large makerspace equipped with 3D printers, drones, and robotics, along with specialized labs for culinary arts, automotive technology, and construction trades. Flexible classrooms were incorporated to support dynamic and interactive instruction, and the open, glass-accented design allows innovation and student activity to be on full display throughout the space.
The Santa Rosa Center for Innovation is designed to serve students during the school day as well as evenings, weekends, and summer programs. The facility emphasizes career exploration, STEAM learning, workforce training, and industry certifications, providing students from across the district with access to high-demand skills and future-ready educational opportunities.
